Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the websites and apps operated by NenaHub (“NenaHub”, “we”, “us”), including:

  • nenahub.cc — our marketing site.
  • coach.nenahub.cc — the NenaCoach web app, where users practice with AI-powered scenarios and upload speaking videos for analysis.
  • api.nenahub.cc — the backend service that performs the video and audio analysis.

We refer to these collectively as the “Services.” By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

About NenaHub

NenaHub is a Tanzanian youth empowerment program based in Arusha, Tanzania. We run school-based public speaking clubs and provide NenaCoach, an AI-powered speaking-practice tool. The Services are aimed primarily at secondary school students, educators, and people interested in supporting our work.

Eligibility and club access

NenaCoach is an exclusive service for members of NenaHub public-speaking clubs. To use NenaCoach you must be an active member of a NenaHub club at a participating school, and your access is tied to that membership.

Because most NenaCoach users are secondary school students, including minors:

  • A minor may use NenaCoach only as part of their membership in a NenaHub club, which is arranged through their school and, where appropriate, with the permission of a parent or legal guardian.
  • A parent, guardian, or school representative who allows a minor to join a NenaHub club and use NenaCoach is responsible for that use and agrees to these Terms on the minor’s behalf.

Your account

Authentication for NenaCoach is provided by Clerk. To create an account, you provide the information Clerk requests (such as name and email) and agree to Clerk’s own terms in addition to ours.

  • You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must give accurate information when you sign up, and keep it up to date.
  • Your NenaCoach account is personal to you and tied to your NenaHub club membership. You may not share your account, sell it, or transfer it to anyone else.
  • You can delete your NenaCoach account at any time from the “Danger zone” on your profile page. Deletion is permanent and removes the conversations and evaluations associated with the account.

Acceptable use

When using the Services, you agree not to:

  • Use the Services in violation of any applicable Tanzanian law or the law of the jurisdiction you are using them from.
  • Upload videos, audio, or messages that you do not have the right to share, or that contain another identifiable person who has not consented to being recorded and analysed.
  • Upload or send content that is unlawful, harassing, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, threatening, or that exploits, sexualises, or endangers any minor.
  • Attempt to break, reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or circumvent the security of the Services, or use them to attack any other system.
  • Use the Services to build a competing product, or to train or fine-tune a machine learning model on the outputs you receive.
  • Impersonate someone else, misrepresent your affiliation with a school or organisation, or interfere with another user’s use of the Services.

We may suspend or terminate access for users who breach these rules, or where we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to protect the Services or other users.

Content you submit

When you upload a video, record audio, or send a message through the Services (“Your Content”), you keep ownership of that content. You grant NenaHub a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, store, process, transmit, transcribe, analyse, and display Your Content to you and to the AI processors described in our Privacy Policy, strictly for the purpose of operating and improving the Services. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained for legal or backup purposes for a short period.

You are responsible for Your Content and represent that:

  • You have all the rights necessary to submit it.
  • It does not infringe anyone else’s rights or violate any law.
  • It does not contain personal data about other identifiable people without their permission (or, for minors, the permission of their parent or guardian).

We do not pre-screen Your Content but may remove it if we reasonably believe it violates these Terms or applicable law.

Club membership and fees

NenaCoach is provided as an added service within NenaHub club membership. There is no separate subscription or per-use fee for NenaCoach — access is bundled into the membership fee charged by your NenaHub club, and the amount, payment method, and refund rules for that fee are governed by the membership arrangement between you (or your school, parent, or guardian) and your club.

Your right to use NenaCoach depends on your club membership remaining active. If your membership ends, is suspended, or is not renewed, your access to NenaCoach ends with it. We may verify membership status from time to time and may suspend access where membership cannot be confirmed.

AI-generated feedback

NenaCoach uses third-party AI services (including Google Gemini, Google Text-to-Speech, and DeepSeek) and locally run models (including OpenAI Whisper, MediaPipe, and Librosa) to generate scores, transcriptions, written feedback, spoken-feedback audio, and role-play replies. These outputs are produced automatically and:

  • May contain mistakes, mistranscriptions, or inaccurate assessments.
  • Are intended as practice and educational aids only.
  • Are not professional speech, language, psychological, medical, or educational advice.

You should use your own judgement before acting on AI-generated feedback. NenaHub is not responsible for decisions you make based on it.

NenaHub content and intellectual property

The Services, including the design of nenahub.cc and NenaCoach, the scenarios, the lesson and goal content managed in Sanity, the NenaHub name and logo, and the code that powers the Services, are owned by NenaHub or licensed to us. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from this material except as expressly allowed by these Terms or by law.

You are welcome to share our public marketing pages and to discuss NenaCoach with others.

Third-party services

The Services depend on third-party providers — including Clerk (authentication), Vercel (hosting), Hetzner (backend hosting), Sanity (content management), Google (Gemini and Text-to-Speech), and DeepSeek (language model). When you use the Services, you are also subject to those providers’ own terms and privacy policies for the parts of the experience they power. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of these providers, except as required by applicable law.

External links from our sites are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for the content of websites we link to.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the Services available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, including features, scenarios, or AI models, without notice. Where reasonably possible, we will give advance notice of changes that materially affect signed-in users.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. NenaHub disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will meet your requirements, that AI outputs will be accurate, or that the Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or free of errors.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NenaHub and its team, volunteers, partners, and providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of the Services — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Services, regardless of the cause of action, will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold NenaHub harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) Your Content, (b) your misuse of the Services, or (c) your breach of these Terms or any applicable law.

Termination

You can stop using the Services at any time. Your access to NenaCoach also ends automatically when your NenaHub club membership ends, is suspended, or is not renewed. In addition, we may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we discontinue the Services. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including content ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, and governing law — will continue to apply.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. You and NenaHub agree that the courts of Tanzania located in Arusha will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in another forum.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If the changes are material, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify signed-in users from inside the app. Continued use of the Services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
